Gambling Awareness Trust (GAT) has been developed to provide funding to organisations for research, education, awareness and treatment services to help reduce problem gambling related harm in Ireland.
Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of stewardship over essential services supported by the GAT, including establishing strategic directions and program policies, conducting comprehensive gambling prevalence research. developing needed infrastructure, and operating effective procurement, funding, and reimbursement systems.
Any organisations involved in providing research, awareness, education, or counselling in relation to gambling in Ireland can apply for funding from GAT. All supported projects must be in line with the objectives of the charity. GAT will review all applications for funding inline with principles established by the Charities regulator and will be guided by original scoping research commissioned from Maynooth University.
There will be periodic calls by GAT for projects/services to apply for funding. These will be assessed in great detail by the Board which will make the final decision.
